Iraq
The people of Iraq have suffered greatly from man-made conflict for decades. Most recently, the conflict in Iraq that began in 2003 served to exacerbate the already dire humanitarian crisis that the Iraqi people have been struggling though for decades. Now, with more than 4 million people displaced, an estimated one-third of the population living in poverty and insecurity that has a vast majority of the population gripped with fear, the impoverished people of Iraq will need emergency food aid and sustainable programs to help rebuild their lives.
