Jordan
The United Nations estimates that close to 2 million Palestinian refugees are currently displaced in Jordan dating from the initial exodus following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. From 2003 until the present time, approximately two million Iraqis have fled the conflict in Iraq, and a majority of those have taken refuge in Syria and Jordan. Many Palestinian refugees still live in shanty town-like refugee camps along the border and receive inadequate health care, lack educational opportunities and have little economic stability.
