KosovoKosovo

After the Kosovo War of 1999, hundreds of thousands of ethnic Serbian and Albanian families fled their homes amidst the conflict. More than a decade later, thousands of families still rely on international aid for basic necessities. Thousands of orphans still require care. Refugees are living in makeshift camps, overcrowded abandoned school buildings and motels. Children are unable to receive consistent education and healthcare. Tensions are still high in the region which has contributed to economic and social strain.
