Mali
Over half of the population of Mali is struggling to survive under the poverty line. Over the last decade, food price increases have exacerbated much of the suffering of already impoverished communities. Food and clean drinking water are becoming increasingly scarce in the rural areas and in some poor urban communities. While the country has a large majority Muslim population, many of the faithful do not have the comfort of worship and community support provided through a mosque.
