Mauritania
Mauritania is one of the world’s poorest countries in the world that has been experiencing severe drought for decades. Mauritanian men, women and children have been hit especially hard by rising food prices and drought and have become almost entirely dependent on external food aid. High rates of malnutrition include members of all social groups and the death rates across all age groups have been increasing drastically. There are many remote villages that have not received any aid from international groups.
