Turkey
In the southeast region of Turkey, Kurdish refugees have been living in harsh conditions with inconsistent access to basic healthcare and education opportunities. The influx of refugees fleeing the conflicts in Iraq and those fleeing the fighting between the Turkish military and Kurdish forces has been steady over the last few decades. Communities of refugees have to struggle to find employment. Children are often forced to forgo school to work and support their families. Refugees in Turkey are left completely dependent on very limited international aid.
