Baltimore Mayor’s Office Recognizes Zakat Foundation of America With Three Honors

Maryland’s largest city, Baltimore, recognized the Zakat Foundation of America with three special honors.

The Baltimore Mayor’s Office, Baltimore County Executive and Comptroller’s Office, along with three state agencies, each awarded recognition to the Zakat Foundation of America and Executive Director Khalil Demir for Zakat Foundation of America's impactful works in the city.

On the topic of the awards, Baltimore Mayor, Brandon M. Scott said: “On behalf of the citizens of Baltimore, I am pleased to present this certificate to Khalil Demir in recognition of your various humanitarian efforts with the Zakat Foundation of America. Thanks to your efforts, families in Baltimore have received compassion, free food, essential supplies, and back to school supplies. On behalf of the people of Baltimore, I commend you for your service to the community and best wishes for continued success and immeasurable impact!”

Zakat Foundation of America distributed backpacks and school supplies to those in need in one of Baltimore's most underserved areas. This event aimed to support local families, ensuring that children were prepared for the upcoming school year. It reflects our ongoing commitment to community support and empowerment, along with our dedication to similar initiatives throughout the city.
