Houston, TX – July 25, 2024- As the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl has continues to impact so many families in Houston and East Texas, the local branch of global nonprofit Zakat Foundation of America is teaming up with local volunteers to distribute food packages to 1,000 struggling families in the Houston area.
Last weekend, volunteers worked together at the Zakat Foundation Houston headquarters to prepare 1,000 food packages for distribution at nine locations. This weekend, three more distributions will be held, including in areas where most residents are low-income. Media are welcome to request interviews, capture footage and hear more about Zakat Foundation of America’s work in the community. The food packages are being prepared at Zakat Foundation of America’s flagship office located at 3949 Braxton Drive, Houston, TX, 77063.
“Hurricane Beryl has left too many families in our community struggling.
