My experience in Ramadan

Despite the end of Ramadan, its effects are still extended, so the meaning of beautiful memories, sincere supplications, and pleasant experiences with the beneficiary families remain. In Ramadan, we double our work to reach the most needy families. This Ramadan distinguished us with our relief programs that included many regions in the Kingdom of Jordan. My experience in Ramadan as a field coordinator for the Zakat Foundation in Jordan was one of the most beautiful experiences that are still in my memory. On this blog I will talk about my humble experience.

On a very hot Ramadan day, I and the American Zakat Foundation Association team went to the Marka area to meet some orphans and their families and hold a party for orphans, where the celebration included many activities, including the distribution of orphans' sponsorships, coupons to buy Eid clothes, a chant party, an entertainment carnival for orphans, a group breakfast and food parcels.

Among the most memorable days in my memory are the smiling faces of children, the smiles of mothers, the sound of children singing, and the reaction of children upon learning about the distribution of Eid clothes.

During the children's celebration, a woman approached me with signs of years and oppression that she lived with because of the fierce war in Syria. This lady hugged me and kissed my cheeks, saying, "May God grant you heaven and make your path to heaven." Then I saw a six-year-old boy named Firas who got up to sing on the stage after he knew that he would get the Eid clothes and when he finished his song he ran from the stage towards me laughing and said, “Aunt Jane, will you buy us new Eid clothes? I want"

All the children sang and sang children's songs, songs for the homeland, in addition to their participation in fun games.

One of the unforgettable days is also the day of our visit to the orphanage in the North Marka area, where we went to the residence to distribute food parcels, breakfast meals, gifts and sweets to orphans, in addition to many activities, games, competitions and face painting. As soon as we got to the area and got out of the cars, a mother from the orphans' mother received us, who is a Damascene woman, the wife of a martyr, and a mother of five orphans.

When distributing parcels, she said to us words that are still in my memory and I always remember him and smiled: “May God bless you. You have not helped this world this year. The food parcel is greater. May God bless you with happiness in this world and the next.

To bring joy to the hearts of the children, we drew on the faces of the children and distributed gifts. A girl ran from afar while she was hurrying and upon her arrival she said to me, “Send me a red heart on my cheek because I love you so much, and I will take the second a white rose because Baba was in love with the white roses.”

This Ramadan was distinguished in that, thanks to God, we were able to reach new places and field visits to poor areas, including our visit to the Ramtha area near the Syrian-Jordanian border to distribute food parcels and breakfast meals.

After completing the first area, we headed towards special housing for the families of Syrian orphans, and upon our arrival we met some beautiful girls with their eyes, I saw strength and hope. We sat talking and told them about my name and we started talking together. At first the girls were shy and their cheeks were red with a shy smile on their faces.

The first girl began by introducing herself “My name is Tayyib and I am the daughter of Shahid Baba.

As for the little girl with blond hair and a smile that never left her face, "I know aunt, I am rich in red tomatoes."

The blond-haired person witnessed her image that did not leave my memory with her bright eyes and her innocent laugh.

One of the most beautiful days of work is to forget all fatigue with a sincere invitation from the heart from an old man, or from the mother of a martyr, or from the wife of a martyr. We forget all pressures with a boy’s laugh or a girl’s smile.

One of the most beautiful experiences, one of the most enjoyable days, and one who loves business to my heart, were the activities of Ramadan 2016 in various fields, especially projects related to orphans.

Their joy is the secret of our work and our success, and the mothers' invitations are the reason for our continuation and your trust in us is our motivation for work and achievement.

May God bless you and reward you with all good.
