In a world where so many are continuing to be displaced (an estimated total of 120 million refugees and IDPs), more and more children are being left without proper shelter and necessities, many of whom have also lost one or both parents.
These new orphans, along with thousands of others orphaned by ongoing conflicts in countries like Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria and more have gone through immense trauma and need all the support they can get. How We Care for Orphans
When you donate to our Orphan Care program, you help cover an orphaned child’s essential needs through Orphanage Assistance and our Orphan and Widow Fund. Without one or both parents, these children often have nowhere to turn for their nutrition, hygiene and education needs and live in continual confusion and lack, and these initiatives help them regain some stability.
Donating to our Orphanage Assistance program helps foster a caring, home-like atmosphere where orphans are given quality clothing, healthy food, comprehensive healthcare and opportunities to further their education. Our Orphan and Widow Fund not only provides food, clothing, healthcare and school supplies, but also provides vocational training opportunities for widows whose loss has also meant the loss of a crucial source of income for their families. Together, these two programs help provide Orphan Care outside of our other major initiative for their wellbeing - Orphan Sponsorship.
Our Orphan Sponsorship Program
We’re proud to have committed to stop using pictures for orphan sponsorship selection, ensuring that every child has an equal opportunity to receive care and support.
We currently work closely with our dedicated field representatives in 19 countries to select the most vulnerable and needy orphans and ensure that not only are their basic needs met through their sponsorship, they are also given opportunities to thrive and flourish.
With your orphan sponsorship, you give them safe shelter, nutritious food, good clothing, educational opportunities and comprehensive healthcare for less than $2/day ($50 monthly). Importantly, 100% of your donation goes directly towards their care.
