Response to Humanitarian Crisis
The humanitarian crisis in Bolivia, sparked by the rainy season in November 2023 and worsened by the El Niño phenomenon in January 2024, led to widespread floods, flash floods, and landslides. Excessive rainfall has disrupted food supply, water access, sanitation, and education, particularly for children, while also threatening livelihoods. Ongoing rainfall and saturated soil continue to heighten the risk of further disasters. Zakat Foundation of America has consistently supported the Bolivian people through food security initiatives during the Ramadan and Udhiyah-Qurbani seasons. Nourishing food staples and nutritious meat has brought comfort and hope to struggling families.
