Response to Humanitarian Crisis
Since 2018, Zakat Foundation of America has been providing aid in Colombia to support Venezuelan refugees fleeing economic and political collapse. Over 1 million Venezuelans have crossed into Colombia, facing food and medicine shortages. Our team has distributed Emergency Relief kits, blankets, clothes, and other necessities through our local partner, Casa de Paso La Divina Providencia. We also provide food security through Ramadan Iftar meals and Udhiyah (Qurbani) meat on Eid al-Adha. Our sustainability efforts include a Livestock Animal Husbandry Program to help farmers raise herds for milk, meat, and income, along with free health clinics for refugees. We are paving the path to a better future through educational support with school supply distribution for families in need.
