Zakat Foundation In Iraq
We have served Iraq’s humanitarian needs since 2003. Ravaged by nearly two decades of war and conflict, we provide food; medicine; winter aid supplies of tents, clothing, utensils, hygiene kits, and daily use items, in addition to blankets, generators, portable cooking apparatus, and other such urgent-need items.
Iraq’s ongoing dire humanitarian conditions have pushed our developing Orphan Sponsorship Program to the forefront of our supporters’ and specialists’ aid efforts there.
In addition, thousands of Iraq’s destitute receive from Zakat Foundation donors and aid workers a crucial full Ramadan month’s worth of Iftar meals every year, followed by our annual global distribution of freshly, Islamically slaughtered, hand-delivered, local Udhiyah (Qurbani) sacrifice on Eid al-Adha, which has become an important dietary source of high protein for these impoverished families.
