Response to Humanitarian Crisis

After years of ethnic conflict throughout the 1990s, Kosovo declared its independence in 2008, but its economy relies heavily on aid. The 1998-1999 conflict led to widespread displacement, loss of life, and severe infrastructure damage, particularly affecting ethnic Albanians who were forced to flee violence and atrocities. The country also faced a fragmented healthcare system, destroyed homes, and significant socio-economic challenges. In response, the Zakat Foundation of America's Seasonal Islamic Giving Program, has been crucial in providing food security through nutritious meals in Ramadan and meat in Uhdiyah-Qurbani seasons.
