Response to Humanitarian Crisis

Madagascar is struggling with a severe humanitarian crisis caused by a combination of climate change, natural disasters, and socio-economic challenges. The country has faced its worst drought in 40 years, alongside cyclones and flooding, leading to widespread food insecurity, displacement, and public health emergencies. 1 million people in the south live in a hunger crisis. Over 200,000 people have been displaced by cyclones, while millions more face poverty, environmental degradation, and loss of livelihoods, especially in agriculture.

Zakat Foundation of America provides a path to self-sufficiency with its Livelihoods program. People gain valuable skills at our vocational training centers. For food security, our food packages and meals in Ramadan and nourishing meat packages during Udhiyah-Qurbani help families struggling with hunger.
