As Ramadan unites people in worship and community, so too does the Zakat Foundation of America through Community Iftar Programs, where locals gather not only to break their fast but also support projects close to their hearts during this sacred month.

These efforts have not gone unnoticed; senators, mayors, college students, mosques, community centers, and many others have commended these gatherings as fostering a spirit of empathy, compassion, and shared responsibility. Every meal served is a chance to connect with one another, build bridges, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting those in need.

Our New Jersey Outreach Coordinator, Hasna Farrukh, accepted a letter on behalf of the Zakat Foundation of America for hosting representatives from Senator Cory Booker's office at our community iftar in Jersey City, NJ. We were honored to receive a letter from the Senator recognizing our transformational work in the area.

These certificates play a vital role in acknowledging the impact and support of our projects, creating a ripple effect of kindness and generosity.

The city of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, hosted its first-ever Iftar dinner, where the Zakat Foundation of America was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation for partnering with the city to distribute free food and hygiene kits in collaboration with the Muslim Student Association. We serve one of the most underserved areas of Broward County.

We are deeply grateful to Mayor Carmen Montano of Milpitas, California, for recognizing us at our interfaith iftar. We also appreciate the unwavering support and service of the Bay Area community, exemplifying the true spirit of giving back.

The Community Iftar Programs build stronger, more connected communities. Beyond providing essential nourishment, these services highlight the selflessness and kindness that communities display every day.

From coast to coast, Zakat Foundation of America leads the way in community service year-round, with initiatives such as distributions of winter relief essentials, hygiene kits, hot meals, and much more.

As we reflect on the impact of these programs, we encourage others to get involved and help make a difference. Whether through donating, volunteering, or spreading awareness, every small action contributes to a greater cause.
