According to details, an America-based NGO, the Zakat Foundation of America, handed over the keys to a one-room residential unit. Handed over to the families, all the houses in the above-mentioned village were destroyed by the floods last year. Farrukh Raza, Country Manager, Faziur Rehman, Agha Noor Mohammad Pathan, Mohammad Danish of Red Foundation, Imran Warsi, Jamaat-e-Islami District Mirpurkhas Ameer Hafiz Salman Khalid, Mohammad Arsalan, Rashid Arain, Local Amir Azhar Jameel Arain, Tahir Jat and dignitaries of the area were also present. Reconstruction of residential units in the affected village consisting of 26 houses has been completed under Red Foundation in collaboration with Zakat Foundation of America.
While addressing the event, Farrukh Raza, Faziur Rehman and Agha Noor Muhammad, said that Zakal\t Foundation America felt the pain of the homeless victims devastated by the flood and according to its plan, it has also provided umbrellas to the flood victims of rural areas. Seeing the smiles on their faces, they are even happier than them, he said that the minority community is a marginalized group. Zakat Foundation of America has been actively working for the past 11 months to provide relief to the devastated families. Ration, 360 tons of rice and other basic needs including clean water have been delivered and the process of providing relief and shelter to the victims will continue in the future.
