Zakat Foundation of America Provides Humanitarian Aid to Flood and Rain Victims and Displaced Persons in Wadi Halfa

Islamic American organizations have not been absent from the Sudanese scene, playing a significant role in alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people amidst the ongoing war in the country. Among these organizations is the Zakat Foundation of America, which has provided humanitarian aid to those affected by floods, rains, and displacement in Wadi Halfa, including local citizens and high school students, through the Al-Mosawarat General Trading Company.

Khalid Awad Al-Rayeh, the General Manager of Al-Mosawarat, announced that the foundation distributed 2,000 boxes of food supplies and 3,000 boxes of hygiene products to those affected by the floods in the locality. The food packages contained essentials such as sugar, flour, oil, powdered milk, lentils, rice, and chickpeas.

In his press statement, Al-Rayeh mentioned that an additional hygiene kit was distributed, which included bath soap, laundry soap, liquid soap, and sanitary pads for high school girls.

The local partner of the Zakat Foundation of America emphasized that these efforts are part of the foundation’s commitment to supporting the people of Wadi Halfa. The foundation has promised further aid due to the significant needs caused by the devastating effects of the war in several Sudanese cities.
